i haven't made this yet, but it sounds like what i'm looking for..i lived at clark air base in the 70's and any time we went from clark to baguio we stopped at an open air restaurant for a break. We called it the HalfWay House-i was too young to drive and never knew the name of the town. They made the BEST fried rice! It was fried with bacon and had egg in it, too. No peas or cabbage. Sounds just like your recipe, but it was darker, probably from the bacon. I'm sure I'll love this, too!
