I am glad you were able to modify the recipe to fit your tastes. I have a pretty high tolerance for spicy foods so I understand how this can be too hot. I might have to try adding oyster sauce the next time I cook this, thanks for the tip 🙂

Hi Lalaine,

Today I made your Eggplant With Spicy Garlic Sauce. It was good, but I ended up changing it a bit to suit out taste.
First, I only used 2 tbsp of chili garlic sauce and it was fairly spicy.
I thought the vinegar came through too much for our taste so next time I will only use half or let it out completely.
Also, the taste did not seemed "round" enough so I ended up adding 1.5 tbsp oyster sauce.
The dish came out really yummy and it is so easy and affordable to make. Thank you so much for your recipe, it is a keeper.(even without the changes)
I wished I could give thus 4.5 stars.
