In reply to Enrie. Yes, you can do that :) The cornstarch coating helps thicken the sauce, though, so you might want to add a bit of cornstarch slurry.

Is it still ok if I dont coat the shrimp in cornstarch and just stir fry it on its own then add the sauce?

Wow - one great recipe

I have been doing my own version of
Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce
Mine didn’t come close but that’s all changed now
From here on it’s only Lalaine’s way.
My wife was some impressed
