No need to buy the sweet & spicy version of banana sauce.
The meal is pretty sweet already, add some sweet or smoky paprika to store bought banana sauce. Not much, just a half teaspoon. My wife is Filipino, so I make the banana sauce from scratch and just add a bit of paprika or chilli flakes if I want a bit of heat.

Although, I am slowly converting my wife to traditional Italian spaghetti. Her friends all like the Filipino version.

This recipe has my whole heart. I love making it whenever I have banana ketchup in the kitchen! I didn’t grow up with my parents, so it’s nice to find great filipino recipes.

What a wonderful recipe! Thank you! I just found out about banana ketchup and found your recipe while searching for ways to use it. I realize now that I bought the regular version and not sweet & spicy, which would have added some additional flavor. Next time! It reminded me of American canned spaghetti-O’s which were a childhood favorite, sweet, saucy. But of course this homemade version is like the best upscale copycat dish. I look forward to exploring more of your recipes!

This is what i cook for today since i don't have hotdog i just use chicken ham i am frying bit of oil then i mashed it added to the mixture for alternatives.

Will not feed the children sugar itself, it was just a small amount of additional flavour as it says.
