I used more vegetables and had some trouble with getting the vegetables in the liquid to cook. Added more water. This cause dilution and prevented the sauce to thicken up enough. It came out good. Just have to figure out how much extra to add on liquid , flour, and peanut butter.

Thank you for the reply but as listed in the link you posted: "Because of the dish’s very involved cooking process, it is usually reserved for special occasions but by using convenient rice flour and peanut butter, it is simplified enough to be everyday dinner-friendly." This is still a simplified version that doesn't involve ground peanuts or ground rice. I've actually found a recipe that includes these traditional elements from a recent trip to the Philippines but I'm curious as to your version of an actual traditional kare-kare. Salamat
