Buying a nice wooden playset for your kids can be fun. We like to see our kids get as excited about something healthy as they do about a new video game, so we encourage their enthusiasm. Our children’s safety is important to us.
Fortunately, basic safety principles can significantly reduce injuries. Here are a few to remember.
1. Size & Age
Many parents seem to forget that 안전놀이터 equipment is categorized by age for a reason, assuming it’s best to get something everyone can enjoy and their kids won’t outgrow.
While I understand creating a playground that children of all ages can enjoy, we must consider the size and age differences. Everyone should not play on every structure just because you have them.
Older children’s equipment can easily injure small children because the distance is too great to reach and the playset is too tall. Kids can easily damage equipment meant for younger age groups, making it unsafe. They can also get stuck in gear too small for them.
It is best to separate structures for older children from those for younger children so that everyone knows who is who.
2. Spacing Issues
Keeping in mind the required space is also vital. Budget-conscious parents often buy the most excellent, most complete playground they can afford, ignoring their actual space constraints, which makes fences and other obstacles a significant risk.
3. Parts that Move
Separate moving equipment from other equipment. If a device is in motion, it can cause serious injury to other children. Sliders, swings, and merry-go-rounds all move.
The device’s movement, ease of child hand entrapment, and injury prevention features should be examined closely. If there is a risk of a hand becoming trapped and severely injured, you must either protect your children or instruct them not to approach that part of the device.
4. Surfaces
Unsafe ground surfaces cause many injuries, but with suitable materials, this can be reduced. Or thick rubber mats or pea gravel. The loose materials should be a foot deep and six feet away from the structure. Swings and slides may require a larger perimeter.
5. Requirements
Remember the rules and guidelines. You can create a safe environment, but they will get hurt if your kids misuse the equipment. Set some ground rules and make sure adults follow them.
